Organisation: Instituto Sacatar

Location: Itaparica island, Bahia, Brazil. Open to all nationalities.

Award: Fully hosted residency: private bedroom with attached bathroom, three meals a day (except Saturday evenings, Sundays and Brazilian holidays), an individual studio suited to the discipline, weekly laundry, logistical support and airport transfer from Salvador. NO STIPEND, no airfare and no materials budget. USD 25 application fee. One French artist may additionally receive airfare and a stipend through Villa Fatumbi.

Duration: Approximately eight weeks; specific session dates are listed in the application.

Deadline: 28 Aug 2026

Brazil's longest-running artist residency, on the island of Itaparica across the bay from Salvador, hosting six to eight artists per session for roughly eight weeks. Open to all creative disciplines and, unusually for this region, to all nationalities, which makes it one of the few genuinely international residencies in Latin America. Sacatar provides full hosting (private room, three meals daily, individual studio, laundry, local logistics and connections) but explicitly does NOT provide a stipend, airfare to Salvador, art materials or discretionary local expenses, so applicants must fund their own travel. Individual artists only; group proposals are not accepted and former Sacatar Fellows may not reapply. COVID vaccination is required. NOTE: there is a USD 25 application fee. Apply through SlideRoom by 28 August 2026. Contact info@sacatar.org.

Organisation: Fundacion Federico Jorge Klemm

Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina. Open to Argentine nationals and to foreigners with at least two years of legal residence in Argentina.

Award: First acquisition prize ARS 7,000,000 (around USD 4,800), second prize ARS 4,000,000 (around USD 2,750). No entry fee; the foundation pays transport of selected works.

Duration: Single prize with exhibition; submitted work must be dated 2021 or later.

Deadline: 04 Sep 2026

The Premio Klemm is one of Argentina's longest-running visual arts prizes, now in its 29th edition, awarded by the Fundacion Federico Jorge Klemm in Buenos Aires. It is notable for a genuinely open definition of medium: the entry categories explicitly include arte digital, robotica, video, videoinstalacion, audio and fotografia alongside painting, drawing and sculpture, so technology-based practice is squarely in scope. Entrants submit one work dated 2021 or later, which must be durable rather than ephemeral. The top prizes are acquisition prizes, so winning work enters the foundation's collection. ELIGIBILITY IS RESTRICTED: Argentine nationals (native or naturalised) or foreigners holding at least two years of legal residence in Argentina, aged 18 or over. Submissions close 4 September 2026 at 23:59. Prize amounts and the closing date are stated in the bases y condiciones PDF linked from the entry site.
