23rd edition of Festival Opera Prima in Rovigo, Italy, selecting performances for 9-13 June 2027. Open to single artists and emerging or independent professional companies in contemporary theatre, dance and performing arts, from Italy and abroad, in any legal form able to handle the administration of a performance. FOCUS: experimental theatre, meaning work that experiments with dramaturgy (as scenic composition), the actor, the spectator and the scenic space. Amateur work, drama theatre and entertainment shows are not selected. WORKS: original works not yet performed, or works debuting in the 2026/2027 season; maximum 60 minutes. Selected artists may not perform the work within 80 km of Rovigo from 60 days before to 30 days after the festival, and may be asked to give several performances on the same day. SUBMIT (one proposal per group or artist) via the online form: artistic CV, artistic presentation and technical rider, and a link to a full video of the performance (or of rehearsals for a debut) viewable online, not as a download. SUPPORT: an agreed fee paid on invoice, lodging for performers and technicians, and one dinner; the festival covers organisation, communication and promotion. Deadline 21 November 2026.
DOMA Initiatives, in partnership with the British Council, nominates one Malaysia-based fellow for the British Council Venice Fellowship Programme at the 2027 Venice Biennale (62nd International Art Exhibition). The fellow spends one month in Venice: half the time as an exhibition ambassador at the British Pavilion (stewarding, engaging visitors, supporting daily gallery operations) and half on independent research or a creative or architectural project inspired by Venice, the Pavilion and the Biennale themes. Fellows complete 15 hours of online training in March-April 2027 and, on return, run a sharing session, workshop or exhibition for DOMA Initiatives. ELIGIBILITY: active early-career professionals in architecture or related creative fields, based in Malaysia, with a portfolio integrating research or creative practice with the themes of La Biennale di Venezia; strong spoken and written English; must also meet the British Council criteria in the Venice Fellowship Programme Guidance Notes 2027. First edition of an international competition for short live performances of around fifteen minutes in dance and physical theatre, run by Music & Movie ETS within the InterAgendo project. Works must carry an ethical, civic or social theme. Six companies are selected to perform in Sassari on 6-8 May 2027 in front of a National Jury, a Schools and Community Jury and a Territorial Jury. MONEY: each selected company receives a guaranteed gross fee of EUR 500 (solo), EUR 700 (duo) or EUR 900 (three or more performers) plus three nights' accommodation; the Best Work Award is EUR 1,000 and the Reflections Award EUR 400. Application is free; only the six selected companies pay a EUR 50 security deposit, refunded in full at the end of the festival. Similar in format to Teatri Riflessi in Sicily. To mark the 40th anniversary of ERASMUS in 2027, the European Cultural Foundation is opening its historical archives for a Creative Research Fellowship: one professional creative practitioner will research ECF's lesser-known role in shaping the ERASMUS student mobility programme (from the European Institute of Education and the Office for Cooperation in Education to the ERASMUS Bureau, which ran the scheme until 1994) and translate that history into a public-facing artwork about what European belonging feels like and what the next ERASMUS could be. WHAT YOU GET: a EUR 10,000 grant for travel, living costs and production; a research residency at the Historical Archives of the European Union in Florence during the first trimester of 2027; and presentation of the finished work in Brussels in September 2027, in partnership with the House of European History. WHO: creative practitioners residing in a Council of Europe member state with a track record of research-based work for museum contexts. DEADLINE: 1 December 2026, 17:00 CET. make-a-thek, a Horizon Europe project (grant No. 101177660) coordinated by Fab Lab Barcelona at IAAC, connects creative spaces, public libraries and makers across Europe and beyond to share skills in circular fashion, traditional crafts and technology. Its open call runs two tracks. MOBILITY SCHEME (Track A): experienced practitioners (make-a-thek Experts) travel to an EU pilot location (Antwerp, Barcelona, Berlin, Budapest, Helsinki, Kranj, Milan, Opole, Reykjavik, Kyiv or Zaporizhzhia) to deliver a workshop, talk or hands-on training, with a EUR 1,000 stipend to support expenses. KNOWLEDGE EXCHANGE PROGRAMME (Track B): learners, practitioners, makers, craftspeople and librarians travel to a 2-day in-person group meet-up (Cohort 1 in Barcelona between end of November and start of December 2026; Cohort 2 in Berlin in May 2027), then organise a local knowledge-sharing activity, with a EUR 850 stipend. Up to 12 participants per track annually. ELIGIBILITY: legal residents of EU member states, Horizon Europe associated countries, or the international pilot countries Ghana, South Africa, Indonesia, the Philippines and Chile; proposals must align with at least one focus area: Circular Fashion, Digitising Traditional Crafts, or Open Technologies. Germany's flagship residency awards for visual artists, architects, writers and composers, administered by the Kulturstiftung der Laender for the federal government. One application window covers the Rome Prize at Villa Massimo (10 months, EUR 3,000/month, international visibility expected), Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano (3 months, EUR 3,000/month), the Deutsches Studienzentrum in Venice (3 months, EUR 1,534/month) and a 6-month Paris residency (approx.
