Brazil's longest-running artist residency, on the island of Itaparica across the bay from Salvador, hosting six to eight artists per session for roughly eight weeks. Open to all creative disciplines and, unusually for this region, to all nationalities, which makes it one of the few genuinely international residencies in Latin America. Sacatar provides full hosting (private room, three meals daily, individual studio, laundry, local logistics and connections) but explicitly does NOT provide a stipend, airfare to Salvador, art materials or discretionary local expenses, so applicants must fund their own travel. The OIF Support for Artist Mobility and Circulation of Cultural Goods programme provides grants of up to EUR 5,000 for mobility (travel, accommodation, visa fees, logistics) and up to EUR 2,500 for circulation of cultural goods (excess baggage, freight, customs) within the Francophone zone; both can be combined. ELIGIBILITY: professional artists and established artistic collectives with a demonstrated connection to the Francophone space (by nationality, working language, or artistic collaborations), residing in an OIF member state, with minimum 2 years of experience in the cultural or artistic sector; must directly manage the project (not act as intermediaries); one application per individual per call. ELIGIBLE DISCIPLINES: live performance (music, theatre, dance, comedy, storytelling), cinema/audiovisual, literature/publishing, and visual arts. She Got Game is a Pro Helvetia mentoring programme promoting equal opportunities in the Swiss and international game industry, supporting the representation of women in management positions through dialogue with experienced international experts from the game industry. The call is aimed at professional game designers who identify as women from the regions of Pro Helvetia's liaison offices: the Arab region, East Asia, South America, South Asia and Vietnam, and West, Central, East and Southern Africa. ELIGIBILITY: Emerging Talents are game developers or game studios whose relevant training or registration (self-employed, sole proprietorship, or company) dates back less than seven years. Selection criteria include digital content for devices such as computers, consoles, mobile devices, or mixed-reality devices requiring a high level of interaction; clearly defined objectives in terms of participation and career; originality, feasibility, degree of innovation, and marketability of the project; and project leaders holding the copyright and rights of use. Excluded: commissioned work and projects that are part of an advertising or promotional campaign, and purely technological projects without obvious narrative and/or aesthetic content. WHAT IS OFFERED: individual coaching and input talks on project development, business strategy and finances, marketing, PR, and pitch training; involvement in a growing community of female game developers; potential access to international trade fairs; CHF 3,000 toward the production of a prototype or demo version; and up to CHF 250 per week toward childcare or children's travel expenses when attending international trade fairs (a budget must be presented in advance). All modules are conducted in English; the programme is a time-consuming commitment of roughly 30 hours over six months, plus potential additional time attending events or trade fairs. Prague performance venue Studio ALTA announces four residency open calls for 2027, all with a single deadline of 10 September 2026. RESEARCH HOUSE (19 to 28 April 2027): a shared residential laboratory for three art projects or individual artists in the early stages of exploration and experimentation, or reopening an existing finished work (performance, installation, object, video) to transform it into another form such as a workshop, text or performance-lecture. Includes a 10-day residency, a fee of CZK 12,000 per project, shared studio, individual workspace and facilitated exchange meetings; the research output must be shared publicly as a work-in-progress in a form based on participants' needs. REST HOUSE (March to November 2027): a five-day residential spa for overloaded colleagues from the arts sector, with no required output or activities; restricted to people working in production, dramaturgy, curation, PR, technical and other supporting artistic professions in the Czech independent sector. Two guests are chosen by lottery (fee CZK 6,000 per person); the public draw is announced 16 September 2026. HOUSE IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD (9 to 18 August 2027): for one performative art project created with the local community and designed or adapted for public space in Liben and its surroundings; this year's call focuses on the 55+ target group. Includes a fee of CZK 30,000 per project, rehearsal and indoor facilities (primarily outdoor spaces), dramaturgic, production, technical and PR consultation, connections to partner organisations, and 7 days of intensive production and technical support in the final phase. A public premiere or work-in-progress in public space at the end of the residency is required. HOUSE OF SWEAT (1 to 10 February 2027): for one performative art project designed or adapted for the specific environment of the Studio ALTA sauna and its immediate surroundings, seeking new ways of working with intimate space, proximity to the audience and non-traditional formats. Includes a fee of CZK 15,000 per project, a 10-day residency, sauna and rehearsal spaces, dramaturgic, production, technical and PR consultation, and 2 days of intensive final-phase support; a public work-in-progress or premiere in the sauna within the 9 to 12 February 2027 programme block is required. Projects at any stage of development can apply to the production calls, and selected projects may be included in Studio ALTA's year-round programme. A fully funded art-science residency from Ars Electronica and Ceske Budejovice, European Capital of Culture 2028, exploring how art and science can collaborate on urgent environmental challenges: climate emergence, sustainable agriculture, geoengineering, permaculture, water resource management, and the broader ecological impacts on local communities. Selected residents work in direct collaboration with local scientists in Ceske Budejovice. WHO CAN APPLY: artists, designers, creatives and artist collectives with more than 5 years of professional creative practice and documented interdisciplinary work; experience in community engagement and science collaborations is essential; applicants must be 18+, of any nationality, and legally eligible to work and travel in the EU. WHAT YOU GET: a EUR 24,000 package (EUR 6,000 artist fee, up to EUR 15,000 production, up to EUR 3,000 travel and subsistence) plus one month of housing covered separately; two winners are selected. STRUCTURE: the residency runs January 2027 to April 2028, with a required on-site stay of up to one month in February/March 2027, an optional stay in August/September 2027, and a March 2028 stay for festival installation, exhibition and deinstallation. SOCIAL DIVE is Tokyo Biennale's open call, now in its third edition and, for 2027, open to both international and domestic applicants (the 2019 round drew roughly 1,500 overseas applications and the 2025 international-only round roughly 1,400). Artists and curators propose projects to be presented as part of Tokyo Biennale 2027, whose theme is 'From Me to Us'. THEME: general producer Masato Nakamura frames the biennale against an age of conflict and division, arguing that to avoid repeating memories of war, violence and exclusion we must reexamine the wisdom and cultural resources passed down across generations. Tokyo carries the memories of neighbourhoods dating back to the Edo period, twice suffered great loss through the Great Kanto Earthquake and the Second World War, and each time was rebuilt through the strength of its citizens; it is also an international city where different languages, memories, beliefs, wounds and hopes intersect. Quoting Kenzaburo Oe, 'I cannot live my life over again. But we can live our lives over again', the call proposes that when a single 'me' encounters others and reconnects relationships, a new consciousness of 'us' emerges. Art projects are treated as a form of cultural prescription, reconnecting people with people, people with places and people with memories. ELIGIBILITY: open to artists, curators, researchers, collectives and practitioners in related fields active in Japan and abroad; applicants must be 18 or older at the time of application; there are no restrictions on nationality, place of residence or base of operations; participants must be able to work in Tokyo during the designated period. ACCEPTED FORMATS: artwork creation, exhibitions, performances, video works, tours, workshops, participatory projects, research projects and curatorial projects. Residency programme run by the Art Explora Foundation with the Cite internationale des arts at its Montmartre site, supporting work that engages scientific and technological exploration and the major social and environmental issues of the present. Residents receive a studio-apartment of around 50 sqm, a monthly living grant of EUR 1,000, a production grant of up to EUR 3,000, and a round-trip travel grant, plus access to production facilities and local networks. Two tracks are offered: a SOLO programme for artists and writers across visual arts, performance, digital practices, literary and other experimental disciplines, and a COLLECTIVE programme for duos or collectives working collaboratively on interdisciplinary, experimental or research-based projects, for which a single studio-apartment designed for collaborative work hosts two residents sharing a bed, and only one member should submit the application. Eligible artistic disciplines are visual arts, performance and live arts, digital arts, curatorial practices, and writing and literary practices; eligible research fields are humanities, social sciences, cultural studies and history, technological innovation, and ecology. No output is required at the end of the residency, but participation in the Open Studios is mandatory. ELIGIBILITY: artists, artist collectives, researchers, curators and writers of all nationalities, no age restriction, with a minimum of five years of professional activity and works or research exhibited at national or international level. Pro Helvetia offers a two- to four-week research trip to one or more regions in Switzerland for cultural practitioners from the regions of its liaison offices: the Arab region, East Asia, South America, South Asia and Vietnam, and West, Central, East and Southern Africa. Applicants active in any of the disciplines supported by Pro Helvetia are welcome, and applications from both individuals and artist duos are accepted. SELECTION CRITERIA: permanent residence in one of the liaison-office regions and active participation in the respective cultural scene; a comprehensive portfolio and proven track record of professional activity in the applicant's field; strong professional interest in the selected destination connected to the applicant's artistic practice and to networking with the local cultural field; a concrete research topic that can deepen exchange between the cultural scenes of Switzerland and the applicant's country of residence; and knowledge of English or one of the Swiss languages. For environmental reasons, applicants are asked to consider a travel duration of at least two weeks. WHAT IS OFFERED: accommodation, travel costs, and daily allowances, plus a coach (a cultural professional from the local artistic field) to facilitate networking and exchange; artists with childcare responsibilities can apply for up to CHF 1,000 per month toward childcare or children's travel expenses (a budget must be presented in advance). EXCLUSIONS: applicants from countries outside the Pro Helvetia liaison offices' area of responsibility may not apply, and Pro Helvetia cannot consider requests from applicants enrolled in a school, university curriculum, basic training, or education programme.
